rabbitassYeah something like this, I was expecting to have a oil but I couldn’t see any apart of the solids
Berlin777does it refer to something like that? the phases were not separated
Isn't it amphetamine?
rabbitassHi, can you tell me please, at what step exactly it formed?
G.PattonI dissolved amphetamine 1:1 in water, I had to add a little more water to dissolve everything. The water had a pH of 1. I added drops of water with NaOH until I had a pH of 12. That's where that kind of white mass was formed.
rabbitassIt's salt of an adulterant, which your amphetamine has. Amphetamine salt can't make pH 1 at water. It's an acid. After addition NaOH, this acid formed insoluble salt with Na. You can filter it.
G.PattonCan I use toluene as a solvent instead of DCM or Diethyl Ether? It is impossible for me to get any of those 2 solvents.
No oil was formed, did you filter the water to remove the solid and then try to extract the amphetamine from the water?
Sorry for asking so much, I'm trying to find out everything I can through my means but the information is limited.
rabbitassHi, don't be sorry.
Yes, you can use toluene.
Yes, procedures are correct. But it seems that there is no amphetamine.
